Where Does YOUR Tube Go?

I read in the TRA judging manual that the WS Washer tube is routed behind the oil pressure line along the front of the battery box and through the bottom hole in the firewall. Teri Ann on her nicely done diagram of the TR 3 bulkhead shows it at the top of the firewall. HUH? Are we back to the idea that since it is often a dealer option they would put it wherever was convenient for them.

Your thoughts greatly appreciated, Tinkerman

On my car, I have two holes unaccounted for...the small square hole (which nobody seems to know that that's for), and the hole that Teri-Ann says is for the washer. To me. that seems like a logical place to run the tube for the washer.

I'm sure Don Elliot will give us the correct answer.

I don't know how big your square hole is Art but I had a number of them on the bulkhead and they were for spring loaded spire nuts. You have to bang them in rather stoutly with a hammer. Mine were about 3/8" square.

No, not those, I'm talking about #24 on Teri-Ann's diagram.

Looks like mine is not correct but here is where it comes out....through the grommet with the harness.

Yep got one of those when you figure it out let me know, heh.

Actually it still looks like one of those spire nut holes.

Oh well it might just become one of those great mysteries of life!

The TRA judging manual talks about where the windshield washer tubing is suppose to go? Ya got to be kidding... You TR guys have way too much to worry about.

No, we just spend to much time worrying about all of it. Besides it gives us something to post about, heh.

Art I just went through my picture file and every one of those square holes was plugged ..............
So I guess rather than plug and play, its plug and forget.

The black rubber hose from my Trafalgar bottle to the plunger pump on the dashboard goes through a 5/16" diameter (I think) hole in the 4" by 4" square plate that fits to the scuttle in back of the clutch and brake master cylinder assembly. This plate can be removed by taking out 4 pan-head screws accessible up under the dash behind the tachometer and/or the speedometer. I seem to remember that there is a grommet in the hole to pretech the hose.

You can see the black hose going up and then under the reservoir for the brake/clutch fluid then it goes to that small access plate described above.

Thanks Viv, a mystery solved. I did fill mine with a small blanking plug.
