Where do You get your Parts?

So what I am getting here is TRF is the best on price and parts. However backorder is a problem with them. Moss is second best, and finding a local less expensive distributer is a good idea. Vicky Brit is out.

How many TRF people are in the TRF buying club?

WHat is your experiance buying parts at swap meets and flea markets. There is a British Car flea market this Sunday hosted by the local MG club. Not sure if I am going...

Obviously the Big 3 are the "Big 3" for a reason.

However as mentioned earlier Doug Braden @ www.triumphparts.com is great. When you call "Doug", you talk to "Doug",...I kinda like that.

He's extremely knowledgable.

He also has lots of NOS parts, and tons of Good Used Parts for those hard to find items that are not available from the Big 3.

In 19 years of LBC ownership, I have tried nearly every parts supplier mentioned in this thread--Moss, V-B, TRF, Rimmer Bros., BPNW, Wedgeparts--and some who are not. My most recent purchase was a new speedometer for the TR8 from Wedgeparts--their price was 30% less than V-B or TRF (and Moss doesn't carry it) and their shipping time was phenominal--3 days from order to delivery.

Moss carries very few parts for the TR8--V-B and TRF have a much more complete catalog--but Moss has everything for my MGA. However, I generally use the local Moss distributor--Sportscar Craftsman--when I need Moss parts. He does mechanical and body work on all LBC marques, so the local LBC clubs do their best to support him.

He's also owned just about every car you ask him about /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Plus he remembers conversations. For example, I'm working on a crossreference for the 2500M on my website, and I had mentioned to him while ordering parts that I couldn't identify the front turn signals, no one I knew could. A few days later he called me back with the total for my order (he had to shop around to get everything without backorders) and he told me the lights came from a Triumph Dolomite (which I don't even think was ever sold in the US).
