Et tu, Petrus?

Well a couple things with me,
First, this computer is running so dam slow,
That I can't sit in front of it all day if
I want to get anything done.

DID just package and have to transport down to
the docks 2 MG'S for shipment to Viet Nam, sent a MGA and MGB
plus a engine and trans.

It is also getting warmer,
and my Car B Ques are starting to rent out
more frequently, also building more of them.

And then, well, I HAD to take in a Dodger game.

so as it is, I'm pretty busy here

Did an impromptu Tampa-Miami-Tampa run yesterday, Resting up from that marathon today.

The kiddo and I are working on her MGB this weekend. Finally got the last of the lights removed. Everything's sorted, we have a big list of parts to order and she's currently re-sandblasting the headlamp buckets.

Here she is using the sandblast cabinet.

Today was her first very important lesson: Half-assed work means you're going to have to do it twice. She didn't listen to me when I told her to put the primer on in a light layer. Warned her that if she just globbed it on it'd go all funny on her and she'd have to re-do it.

She has a big lazy streak, and I hadn't realized that the car restoration would give her suck immediate feedback when she's being a slacker. I'm really hoping this sinks in.

So, right now she's stripping the primer back off the headlamp buckets in order to do them over again.

Funny how that works. I recall once sending a piece of work back to my son seven times. Told him, if you want to be truly lazy, do it right the first time!

My daughter (21) is a history major and wants to restore artifacts. Came home a few months ago and said she has been looking at motorcycles for restoration. Last week she bought a BASKET CASE Honda CT90 to restore. Mama ain't pleased but i am excited to do this with her and suspect the wrenching will mean more than any eventual riding. (she doesn't even have her driver's license. )

Will keep you posted

I've drifted away mainly due to selling my MGBGT and replacing it with a MGF and now spend a lot more of my time driving.

Mickey, I visit TN at least once a year but its always visiting my friend in New Tazewell, a bit of a drive from Clarksville.

Dave from Sports Car Services showed up a the store today in a black daily driver MGB. I had to talk to him all nice (just like my Triumph was not in pieces).

Bit of a hike from here, yes. Pretty area of the state, though. Our cabin (and retirement target!) is south of there, on the fringe of Smoky Mountains Nat'l. Park.

My MG-TD/B is running great and it is now my daily driver. I'm going to take it to the race track next week and I'm wondering about carburator adjustments. Sometimes when I shut it down I get a back fire. I don't know if that means that it's running rich or what. Would I do better on the track with a rich mixture? My carbs are HIF4's. I get about 23 MPG. When I'm on the freeway and doing about 65, when I stomp on it, it takes about 15 seconds to get to 80 mph, which I think is a long time. Thanks for your imput.

Too fat (rich).

Seems like the posts are getting fewer and fewer on the MG forum.

Well, earlier this week I participated in Hot Rod Magazine's "Power Tour" and drove our club project car a 1968 MGB/GT V8 conversion (Buick 455)from Muskegon, MI to Madison, IL (Saint Louis) where two more club members took its reigns and continued on into Oklahoma. Attached is a photo taken at the University of Illinois' Assembly Hall parking lot where some 4000 street rods were gathered for display on monday afternoon/evening.

This week, there are a lot of MGers in Dillard, GA for the North American MGB Register's annual convention (wish I could have attended!!!) Over 200 cars are registered.

Rick, That sounds like a great event, A little to far for me to drive. My MG-TD/B has a 72 B drive train. It has MGB front end components and a roll bar. I made a hard top for it and it works great.

Post some pictures!

Workin' on the GT today - at least this morning. Have a wedding to do this afternoon.

Re-installing the driver's seat. WHAT A PAIN!! Yes, I've read all the tricks; still it's a hateful job. My aging back and knees are NOT happy! And haven't begun to do the passenger seat.

I bought some new seat slides, and there is a definite bind in sliding them along the tracks. Found the old ones and am cleaning them up to see if they'll work better. There's a distinct difference in metal quality...

Back to it!

Mickey,
I got some new seat slides in a car I purchased. JUNK compared to the originals. I sent them off to the scrap dealer and put good originals in. Hollar if you are short on slides. I probably have 40.
