Here's a tip for storing a car that you don't intend to look at for a long while:

If possible do it with the hood (bonnet) open, gives the little buggers less places to nest.

But over time will warp the bonnet - especially if its aluminum - if you only use the factory stay rod...
 
Thanks Tony, so it would be better to just remove the thing & store it right. I'm going to remove it anyway so I might as well do it now. Good input, I hadn't thought of that!
