We have a bird feeder and a suet block holder. Picked up a box of suet blocks at the store on clearance and I thought I would get a 25lb bag of bird feed like I normally do. No 25lb bags at the Big Box store just 10lb bags for $15.00???
Went to Ace and almost the same thing there. We have an independant hardware store in Macon. Great place with all the parts no other store carries. I think you can get Knob and Tube parts there.
They had big bags but they were $40.00. They also have 5lb and 10lb bags they fill them selves so I got one of those.

ACE Hardware sells 50 lb. bags of peanuts here.I asked why would

Expenisve here too but, if you want to get the chicks you gotta put out the scratch. :jester:
 
Our song birds are snobs, preferring the "good stuff" our neighbor up the hill has in their seed hopper. I hear them chirping away their accusations: "cheap, cheap". I'll attract them back to our yard no matter the cost!

I get my wife's oiled sunflower from Rural King here. On sale $13 for 25 lb bag. I buy two as the 50 lb bags are $40 a bag.

Yep! Buy only on sale, or visit nearest grain store for somewhat less distance.
