This is what it looks like today... With a bit of luck and fair following wind, I think test drive #1 (without carpets or cockpit cappings) could occur next Monday. My work week is Tue - Sat. Sunday and Monday are my days to make serious progress on the car. I need to fit the bonnet, the doors, a drivers seat, install the front sway bar, make sure the wheels are lined up, fill/bleed the clutch & brake systems -- and then I can see how it drives!

Feels good to be this close, doesn't it?

Congratulations on the progress!

Looking very nice ...

Looks great, you have to be really excited! I figure I'm about 6 weeks from that point, can't wait.

It does feel good. I AM excited! 6 weeks from now the weather hereabouts should be gearing up to be pretty awful. Though one never knows -- Thanksgiving has provided a 70 degree weekend a couple of times in the last few years. Wall-to-wall motorcycles -- everyone getting in what is CERTAIN to be the last ride...

They're predicting 30% chance of rain for next Monday. Since I won't have the studs in for the tonneau or foul weather gear yet, it may slow me up. I figure I'll have all winter to recover all the cap pieces and fit all that stuff next spring. If the weather holds off though, I might get the top back on it sooner than that.

I've been known to pilot a resto with a milk crate as a seat... just hold onto the wheel good 'n tight. :jester:

May be a milk crate for me, if I get the engine running before I get the seats done! They are in for some much needed bottom pan repair.

Wish we had some rain in our forecast. Powder dry here in mid Tennessee.
