Wheeler Dealer's on Velocity Channel

Butchery. On a small scale.

That Morgan project was rather amazing; complete chassis change which required total disassembly to meet MOT!
I don't approve of a lot they do because when they're "in there" they could surely do more. It pains me to see them put back rusty stuff.
Anyway, it's still a fun show.

EDIT: The amusing part of the show is the so-called "profit" (which doesn't count the hours and hours Ed puts into each project). Still, I enjoy watching it, in part, because they don't take themselves too seriously.

Briliant show!!!!!
Driving people to buy and flip - making my concorse cars worth more due to desire...
Providing How to's for the amature and starters to provide confidence
Better than most shows on v channel and speed ie Chasing Classic (stuck up) Crap $$$ or how to attach a new exahust to a new TRUCK or how to ruin a classic car by painting it sparkle red! etc etc

Nope, not at all. It doesn't affect concourse prices short-term. It artificailly inflates regular car prices creating a bubble and making life harder for the true hobbist and folks who do this for a living. It hurts the market in the long-term. Look at what flipping did to the housing market. Your concourse car will be proven to be a bad investment.

Believe me, this is bad for everyone.

I generally agree... EXCEPT that they often don't make any money (so it's not a flip in the often-used way).

If it all comes down to MONEY, we're lost.

Besides, "gasoline" will soon be tagged in the same category as PLUTONIUM if the 51% majority have their way.

Well, I only mean that they don't flip like others that try to make a bomb. It's encouraging to seem them break even.
As for gasoline, I've often wondered where we'll all be in 20 years (other than nearly dead)... and how available petrol will be. :p

Doesn't matter, Chicken Little had a big mouth that worked.

This holds true on so many fronts I could get banned....that is....if the zombies don't eat our brains first...

.. the thing is, most folks' brains already ate up.

It's usually a fun show. And they do a service in giving a second life to a few worthwhile if not valuable old cars. I do agree the idea of a "profit" when not considering Edd's hours is a little silly but still enjoyable.

Happened to see this topic and thought I would chime in ! I enjoy Ed and Mike on Wheeler Dealers and like many stated, they sometimes make just a few "quid" on their projects. Would imagine that is not really the total point as obviously subsidized by the TV production company as otherwise Ed's labor cost is free like mine on my Healey !!! Have picked up quite a few tips from Ed's work and look forward to what he is working on even if totally alien to my interests, like a big Citroen or Land Rover. Good show and hope it stays on ! Let's hope the PC crowd that seems to be so big right now doesn't make "old cars" their next target. If they do, guess we will all be like Charleton Heston on his love of guns except ours will be old cars ( and guns too for me) - "you will have to pry away the keys from my dead, dying hands before I give up my Austin Healey" !

I had to laugh ..... Edd driving the Morgan ..... Head clearly above the windscreen!
The Fiat Dino .......

Absolutely loved the XK and the mk Jag`s

C'mon now. Let's not take this show too seriously. Next you'll be telling me that Duck Dynasty is scripted.
I personally enjoy mindless TV.

Funny, Russ!

You're decidedly one of us, can't figger how it took ya so long to find the forum!

I like the show, we've had the show for few years, even my wife watches it. I think it's dangerous. Usually the first thing I'm doing at work on Thursday morning, after the Wednesday Night show, is hit eBay and auto sites pricing out what they had on the show. They seem to be getting fair prices for the "restorations", not gouging like some of the so called reality shows are claiming to get. I know one day I'm going to come across a car (same type anyway) they did and drag it home to the herd.

That's one thing I HATE about stuff like that.

It's the "Owww, that's ~COOL~, I want a car like on'na TeeVeee". :rolleye:

It does nothing for the faithful.
