TR2/3/3A Wheel cylinder issue?

Hey all! Long time no see.
I'm replacing the wheel cylinders on the TR3 and noticed that the originals have a channel for the side of the shoe to seat into but the new ones don't. Will I have an issue with the shoes being too expanded for the drum to fit back on? It looks smaller so maybe it'll got just fine but want to avoid having to disassemble.
