Wheel back spacing

Does anyone know the maximum backspacing on a spitfire wheel without getting into frame rub? Also what is the maximum turned dia. for the rear drums for a Mk3 spit?

Thanks

I bought a set of 14X6 Minator (mini-lite look alike) wheels and they don't rub the frame at all (77 Spit). They did connect with the fender well on the first trip out of the driveway, though...curled the fender lips a bit and no problem since.
That doesn't answer your question, though. I'll measure the backspacing tomorrow and get back to you. No promises...I'm also pulling the cam out of my LR Discovery tomorrow (not just to punish the old girl...the cam is worn quite severely).

She is gonna love ya for that new cam.

The reason I ask is that I am looking at a ser of 13x7 wire wheels and I need to know back spacing/offset to have them made up. I will probably be using a 185 or 195/70 tire on them. I am hoping to avoid having to curl the fender edges as I don't think they will take it at their advanced age.

I'm sorry to report that I didn't check the backspacing on the spit today. I had my hands full with the Disco...didn't get the cam out, but removed a lot of crap that was in the way!
Since you are interested in wire wheels, you would probably want to consult someone who is running wire wheels on their spit for advice.
Have you checked the wheel info at www.triumphspitfire.com? You can find it under the reference link.
