legend has it there are Sturgeon that big, or bigger, that cruise along the bottom of Seneca Lake at depths of over 600 feet.

Seen a gar about that big in N.O Marina one night. I thought it was a piling flaoting just under the water.
 
Yeesh! I'd freak if I saw a fish that big in fresh water.
Supposedly they were using sonar to map the lake and discovered what they thought were waterlogged tree trunks hovering just above the bottom. closer inspection revealed huge lake sturgeon. I've never seen proof, I don't think they come anywhere near the surface.
There is a U.S. sub down there. Sunk, by the Navy, on purpose to use for rescue practice. That is fact.

Yeah sitting at dock - Fact the West Edmonton Mall owns more submarines than the Canadian Navy. Good thing we're not surrounded by three oceans or anything. Uh, never mind.
