A 1979 MGB for $1800...three hours before the end of the auction?

Is this the going rate for a '79 with 23,000 miles? Or will this go crazy just before the end.

I'm very tempted to bid on this, why shouldn't I?

You didn't post a link to the auction for us to look at. Go back to the listing and look at the seller's profile. In addition to the usual rating number for their transactions, I believe you can somehow determine previous eBay names the seller may have used. If the person has a previous ID with a bad reputation, or no sales/purchase records with their current ID... there may be a reason no one is bidding on the car.
 
Were it closer, I'd bid on it at that price!

Yep, if that's the one you called me about, its a good deal at that price - if its what he`says it is & his feedback says he describes 'em pretty well.
 
Thanks, Tony, that's the one I called about. However, one of his feed backs indicated he photo shopped pictures!!! It's a johnny come lately deal and a long way away, I'm going to pass.
 
Would have been a fine deal for someone semi-local. For those of us on the east coast adding $1000 shipping would take some of the excitement out of the purchase. Bob
 
Bart's "perfect" MGB was supposed to go for around $45k. I never heard what it sold for or even if it sold. It was featured in Classic Motorsports Magazine a couple of years ago.
