Howdy Folks,

I sold my TR4 awhile back & have several parts left over that I`m going to sell.

This "Tailight Lens" came with the car. I`ve never seen one with the "4 Raised Ribs" ea. in a "V" pattern. In the top center there is a Triangle with the letters "PMG". Going around the perimeter is labeled; "Made in England" & "BS2516 GD1".

Its all "Glass".

Who can identify what car etc this would belong to? Dog gone pic is way too big to show here. So; I just posted it on ebay; Item # 250703476692:

Thanx, Russ

Russ, this is strictly a guess, but I'm thinking it might be an aftermarket replacement for the typical Lucas "beehive" (L594) glass lenses used on so many cars for side lamps, tail lamps and flasher lamps. Hard to tell from the photo, but it and the chrome rim look to be about the same size as those from the L594 lamp.

:iagree:
There was a 'standard' truck clearance light that took a similar lens, although the ones I've seen were plastic rather than glass. Direct replacement, and a bunch cheaper.

Howdy Folks,

I`ve had several int. responses from personal LBC friends & Alfa friends etc around the country. I`ve been told this lens may possibly be for a "Lotus, Very Early Ferrari" & a few others.

But, No one can seem to come up a definitive answer! Its a nice mystery puzzle to find the answer. I guess you can simply say its a "Repro" of a "Beehive" lens but those "4" V raised markings is whats causing the question; Orig or Not (?) and to "What"?

There are a bunch of "lookers" and several "Watchers" on ebay waiting to see what happens. Personally; I hope it "Does`nt" reach the reserve so I can do some homework & find out "What this item fits" & then re-list it.

Any info at all would be much appreciated.

Thanx, Russ
