Nice day for a drive along the beach highway. The silver
Boulder Bouncer did just fine and dandy in the dunes.
We stopped for lunch at a biker bar and above the roar
of the Harley guys we hear such a clatter in the sky we
had to look up to see what was the matter.
Drive safe today,and look out for the other guy!! Dale

As a MGB owner who's car is safely tucked away for the winter I have to salute the gentleman driving a TR6 (I think) in Franklin Lakes New Jersey with the top down ( but then need I say that) on Christmas Eve at 3 in the afternoon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Went out to see if the roads are any better today. Temps were a nice balmy 38 degrees. The surface is pretty clean in most places but the roads are not as wide as they once were. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Getting in and out of parking lots can still be a challenge as the entrances and exits are basically still holes/slots in snow walls. Very 'one-way'ish in most places. Also difficult in a low sports car like my TR8 to see over the walls for oncoming traffic.
Here is a couple shots of my street. First in its current state. (After three days of melt) This type of 'storm' is not typical for Fort Collins.
Second, how it usually looks, only about another 100 yards up the street from the other photo. This was one day after our last 'Storm', which is typical for us.
Bike Lanes and street parking is nearly non-existent in town right now. Lots of 'turn lanes' don't exist right now either, which really screws up traffic on some streets. Split the difference between Dale's 82 degrees and our 38, add some 20-30mph wind and this snow would just flat disappear. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif We've had near 70 degrees on New Years not too long ago so its possible, though not probable. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Come over, hire a car and do a tour of the churches in the towns and cities. THEN hire a classic car and search out the rural ones along some of the quieter roads. When you go to Yester Church in Gifford call in at my house across the road and we'll go for a run in my TR.
I'm enjoying seeing the weather all over the world in TR land. It's amazing to see the difference in weather between Colorado and California. I envy the weather in both places. I like it warm and dry or snowy, but I'm not so keen on the weather in between!

Hello, fellow gearheads! Merry Christmas from Charlottesville!
Weather here is a bit rainy, with temps in the high 40s. It's okay, because the past couple of weeks have been magnificent. I purchased a new bike on Saturday ('03 KLR 650) and rode it 91 miles home on US 250. Weather was glorious!
Not today, but this ain't S. California!

[/ QUOTE ]Nick, where I live, I need not travel anywhere near that distance to see great contrasts in weather. I'm about 20 miles from New York State's capital city Albany. Being on the Hudson River, it is roughly at sea level. I can leave my job in Albany on a rainy winter day to head home. In the 12 or so miles to where I grew up, the altitude increases to maybe 700 ft. above sea level, temperature drops maybe 5 degrees (F), and I will start to encounter sleet or snow. By the time I've completed the last 8 miles to my current home (another several hundred feet above sea level and another five-degree temp drop), the snow may well be heavy and deep! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Oh yeah, yesterday (Christmas) I pumped up the brakes on the Herald and went for a quick ride...probably the last one for awhile, since the salt trucks were out in full force during a freezing rain last night! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
