What's the Most?...

$1,610 on ebay! :winner1: the guy who sold it.

I had to let one go on Ebay last night because in the last minute the price jumped from $639 up in the $830+ range. Granted it was a rebuilt unit with about 60 days warranty, and practically in my backyard, but it went way beyond what I could spend at the moment. Honestly, I was a bit astonished at the price jump.

Guess I'm going to have to save my pennies and expect to pay a much higher price if I want to go with a Datsun unit. As for buying a whole car, that presents a number of challenges for me. For one the majority of the cars seemed to have migrated far away from Georgia. The other big sticking point is not having a place to disassemble the car.

Just park it in front of the house on sat, nite.

I bought the Datsun 210 five speed tranny last year, and felt guilty for paying $425. Its amazing how the prices have gone up! I followed that one on ebay for $830+. I was not feeling too guilty about my purchase then! There must be thousands of old Datsun 210's in scrap yards still remaining. I read an article last year where a person could even go to an auto scrap yard and ask to see all of their shelved transmissions. The 210 would be the smaller ones, and look for all of the appropriate markings as listed on the Rivergate web site, the author of the article was probably right in saying how after 20-35 years, even the car wreckeryard people dont know what is in there storage areas.
Incidently, I bought mine from one of the recommended sellers on the Rivergate site. The guy (California) doesn't sell on ebay, he just waits for someone to call. He had two when I called him, and the ebay auctions were above $500 at that time.

Would you happen to still have that person's contact information? I'd like to find out if he's still selling them.

Brian in the Bay area. Here's his information on the Rivergate website.

Good guy. I got mine for CHEAP because at the time he had two and there was a slow period on sales for him. And I was close enough to pick it up, so he cut me a deal.

Now I just have to order the kit.
