I was doing some work on my 6 to get it ready for the driving season. I heard a "knocking" noise coming from the front passenger wheel; with every rotation of the wheel there was a distinct knock. It did not sound like a bearing since a bearing makes more of a grinding noise. My best guess was that it was coming from the cotter pin that locks the castellated nut in place. I pulled the small grease cap and the cotter pin was not the problem so I pulled the hub and found a bolt had worked its way loose. What is worse, is that the small lock tab that keeps the bolt from loosening was never bent up. There is only one person to blame and that would be me.
