HI soren, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif,Motor Helmet =Bonnet=Hood and String=Strap. Yes the leather strap across the bonnet can indicate a special group of Healey cars. However, it can also just be an embellishment that an owner added to his car using readily available after market parts.---Keoke

Well Soren, in that case it may be appropriate to ask the owner about
the authenticity of the " Leather String" across the "Motor Helmet" and see what he has to say.---Keoke

It could be a 100M either converted at the factory or as an aftermarket upgrade. As Keoke says it could just be a leather strap across the bonnet. There were 640 100M BN2 produced at the factory.
I agree, the best is to ask the guy.Let us know what happens
