TR6 What's normal oil pressure for a TR6?

When I start it, and the engine is cold, the oil pressure is at ~60psi at idle, but when the engine warms up, it drops to ~23psi at idle. I'm using 10W-30 oil. Is this normal? It seems a little low.

What does it go back to when normal driving or does it stay at 23 psi?

That's okay until he gets married, then it will be HER job.

Webb - That oil pressure sounds normal for the weight oil you are using. As noted, for the climate you drive in 20W50 is a more likely choice and will raise your pressure a bit.

According to the operating manual - oil pressure at 2000 rpm under normal op cond should be 45-65 lbs/sqin. I agree with the others try 20/50 oil as it will resist heat. Be careful not to run the heavier grade oil in cool/cold regions.

Yes, the oil pressure raises signifigantly (back to about 55-60) when any throttle is given at all. Well thats good news. I sure didn't want to hear that my engine is seriously messed up!
