Just curious guys and gals...please don't take this as plugging my FS ad or anything. I am really lost as to what this thing is worth. I won't get into it unless someone really wants to know why, but I want/need to find a new home for my '68. It absolutely needs some work, and I am assuming I could come out ahead if I just parted it out, but I can't bring myself to do that. I sort of just want the thing gone.

What's a true, real value you'd think this is worth? I realize it's a basket case. The real reason I am asking is I've been offered various trades that I am considering. Just trying to make sure I am making a good choice (par trade) if I accept one of them.

That might make a good donor car for someone that wants to "upgrade" a bugeye. If I were looking for a project car, the body condition would scare me. I'd try to market it to people that are starting on a bugeye restoration. They'd get disc brakes, 3.9 rear end, 1275 engine, ribcase gearbox, and a "test vehicle" while they did the body work on their car.

In good running condition it is a $1200 car IMO.

You've got most of the hard work done. $1,700 is a little high but lots of good parts included assuming drive train is working fine. I'd consider installing brake stuff to make things functional and getting someone to address and tune carbs. Hard to impress someone with all of hte hard work you've put in if it isn't driveable. I had carbs rebalanced and tuned for $50-60 two years ago. Now Bugsy starts too quickly before oil gets a chance to get pumping. Brakes and calipers / hoses are really simple to complete. If you can't do yourself isn't University Motors up your way. Get John Twist to finish it up. End result will be more $ in your pocket. It's the liittle things, details.
 
I agree with Jim, it looks like it wouldn't take much to get it going, once going well the value gets closer to I don't know $2000 or maybe a little more, as is maybe $1000 to $1500 depending on your time to sell and interest.
