What's it worth?

Passed this in Jersey today and had my son take some pictures for me. Not sure if it runs but can be had for under $1000.00. Have a call in to the owner to get more details.

A friend bought a solid coupe last year for $400.00. Needed tires, suspension and engine work, and several other little things.
He's got about $1k into it and it's on the road. Look at ebay and any other source you can find for values of cars in similar condition. Find out what this car needs and cost of repair, and determine if the car is worth purchasing.
You can always give the guy an offer and your number and gamble with the waiting game.

Does the car have a sunroof? If so, why tarped. The original cloth webesto sunroofs are unobtainable.

Got some more info - 1975, 4 spd., gas gauge doesn't work, wiper switch broken (but wipers work), fan went thru radiator and has been replaced with electric unit, alternator puts out too much juice, factory top is gone. Car has AC, comes with spare hood & trunk lids, 5 spd trannie and other spares. My son said it starts right up and runs strong. If still available I may check it out this weekend.

Check for rust first! The mechanicals are cheap compared t rust repair, bodywork, paint etc...
