We're going in to town later for the fire works. Right now I'm using my ION TTUSB Turn Table to rip some vinyl from my old collection (.MP3) to I can listen to my old records on the iPhone. I'm ripping Chicago VI (circa 1973) right now. The Audacity Software I'm using does a pretty good job of analyzing and eliminating most of the "hiss" and the occasional "pop."

Got up early and ran 2.5 miles before the heat sets in here on the east coast (they are calling for 100 deg by Tues).
Just got done bleeding the brakes on my TR6 (circa 1973  ),
now for a test ride.
Tonight a barbcue at home and maybe a cab.
Happy Fourth everyone!

AS soon as I finish ripping Ringo, I'm heading to the garage to work on the Jag brakes for a while!

Watered the garden, mowed the lawn, jacked up and re-leveled my shed, and now doing a material list for my new garage roof. I should really rip the old shingles off- but i dont want the mess. :cryin: Going to do a metal roof and bring out the overhangs a bit more.

Fireworks and dinner out for me and my girl later.

Took care of our Grandson overnight, took him to visit my Mom at her assisted living home and then took him back to his parents, and now enjoying the A/C in the 95* sun (but not the Phillies play on TV). We are going to my daughter's for a dinner tonight and maybe the Kutztown Folk Festival tomorrow followed by AAA baseball and fireworks.

Had a nice overnight with my beloved at a resort about 1 hour away and then a round of golf together. Missing our second home. Happy fourth all!

mostly a lazy day. Went to the community pool and cooled off. ordered a pizza for dinner (cooked out the other night) then when it cooled off I headed up to my cousins to fix the brakes on his Jeep, and fix the clutch on the other Jeep.
Same here as at Brooklands.... Just plain hot! We've already got more summer this year than all of last year. It's been pretty nice so far, but it makes me lazy. I just don't wanna do anything when it's this warm out.
I gotta load my software back into this new computer. I have a neat little converter box made by Behringer called the U-Phono UFO202. It converts my nice Pioneer turntable output into digital USB signal for the computer. It'll also connect to tape players or a PA system. Very clever little box. I love it. I believe it also uses Audacity. nice program.

I just finished watching one of my favorite movies - Men of Honor

put the old classic Farmall through 2nd baling of alfalfa on Saturday before storms moved in....once done we've watched the rain dump in torrents all day today and settled in for Monday predicting 3 more inches to the already 10" from June...

An old-fashioned Independence Day here in New England:

Started the day by smoke-bombing a ground hog tunnel up in the garden behind the raspberry patch. Helped decorate the Common with red/white/blue bunting for the afternoon parade and reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Dug and planted a new spinach and cabbage bed, then enjoyed noon dinner with friends. At 1pm the villagers (costumed 1830s New Englanders) joined on the Common for a procession. Note the order of the procession: the Stars and Stripes, followed by the militia, then the fife and drum band, then the land and business owners, then the workers, then the women, then the cattle. A different time, a different place.

At the end of the reading of the Declaration, each state's name is called in order of the signers. Lots of huzzah's for each state, as our "modern" visitors indicated where they came from.

Fireworks ended the evening. What a great day - celebrating our opportunity to be responsible, self-directing citizens of a new and independent nation.

Render'd down about four pounds of "country" ribs on th' Weber (GRILL, not carbs... I know you lot)for a few hours, had nothin' BUT rain all day. 'smits made 2 pounds of elbow macs into a wonderful mac salad, she baked cheesecake too.

Ate waay too much, that cheesecake got a topping of fresh blueberries and heavy cream whipped up with a German vanilla sugar.

Neighbors seem to have spent tons of money on MORTARS. When the barrage began, self and three cats started lookin' for good bunker substitutes. *sheesh*

Fresh-baked bread and pseudo pulled pork sammiges for lunch on today's schedule.

....forgot to mention: viewed "Green Zone" as the ribs were cookin'. Made for an interesting near-PTSD evenin' as the neighbors' ordinance began to report. :smirk:

Froze our <span style="color: #CC0000"><span style="font-size: 26pt">RUTABAGAS</span> </span>off

Cooked two racks of ribs and corn. Watched the neighbors burn up several hundred bucks worth of mortar shells and roman candles.

Tried to shoot fireworks off but the moskitos were so thick and hungry even after swimming in off deep woods you looked like pigpen. I've got moskito bites where one should not get moskito bites.

Hope you can scratch in public

We spent the morning of the 5th at the Kutztown Folk Festival and then jumped in the A/C to avoid the high 90's heat. We will be heading to the AAA baseball game tonight which will be hot at least until the sun sets, and then there will be post-game fireworks!!!
