Wow! I made some <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="text-decoration: underline">amazing</span></span> vegetable soup today! Wish y'all could come by and try a bowl!
What's cookin' in your neck of the woods?

We're going to have grilled steak (Omahas), baked potato and a nice salad. An easy, quickie meal. Of course, some of that vegetable soup would go nice with the steaks. I'll wash all of this down with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... :thirsty:

Did about 15 gallons of soup over the winter and it rocked. Did "low phat" red beans today. No bacon or bacon grease. Doc says gotta lower goop levels. Tried something new, instead of soaking dry beans in just plain water, I put my seasonings in the soak water so the beans would draw them in instead of tryng to cook the favor in. It worked great and helps overcome the fact that I had to leave the best ingrediant out.......a pound of bacon and all the grease therefrom. Don't know what I'll do next. Gotta a bunch of pork on sale last night. Can't beat $.99 a pound.

(Heck, I'll buy dog crap for $.99 a pound...but it don't taste near as good...lessun you got bacon grease in it.)

Had Polish peasant pie. polish sauasge cooked with peas and carrot covered with a layer of mashed potaes baked till there just to browning. oh sooo good
