What'd ya get/give?

May seem a little cheesy, but we got a white Christmas. The paper said it has been 80 years or better since weve had snow on Christmas.

I got 2 sears gift cards but not sure what to buy.

Some much appreciated clothing from parents-in-law. Even thermal undergarments! :jester:

A great Christmas Eve gathering of Herself's family, now expanding as th' nieces and nephews marry and start their own families. Newest addition is less than a month old.
She was passed around like a football. :jester:

Always a good time, and waay too much food. I've gone from Italian fare to Ukranian. Miss the former, love the latter. I'm an admitted foodie.

For some uknown reason these people have adopted me as one of their own.

Got to bring home a half a ton of Mum-in-law's baked goods... and Herself is staying there 'til Tuesday. This is a fox/henhouse issue.
Anybody wanna make book on what'll be left of th' COOKIES?!?!

We were sunny, near 60 degrees and 20 inches behind normal for snowfall on the frontrange of Northern Colorado. Within 30-45 minutes I can be into several feet but we are very dry, and unseasonably warm... Go Figure...

Looks like that isn't gonna last long! Looking at the weather channel web site it looks like low of 18 tonight in Ft Collins and the 5-day forecast shows snow by Thursday and more on Friday. Stay warm!

Got myself one for a project too. Mounted on the front of the Miata for a quick test today.

The wife gave me a set of Whitworth tools. She said she was tired of hearing me complain that I didn't have any, but was to cheap to buy them. Funny how age has a way of naturally educating you in the ways of the female sex. (To a point, that is.) All it takes is patience and you will usually come out a winner!

Sorry ladies, but you know it's the truth. :jester:

I don't intend this to be political, but one thing I got for my wife (well and for me too) is two tickets to our new Governor's (Susana Martinez) Inaugural Ball. The wife knew we were going to the Inaugural Ceremony and public reception, but she had no clue until Christmas that we were also going to the Ball that evening (Saturday, 1 Jan). She kept indicating she wanted to go, but I kept coming up with excuses so I could surprise her.

In addition to renting a Tux, I have also rented a rather high-end camera, a Canon 7D, with a very good image stabilizing lens, so I can take decent pictures that are hopefully better that just the usual snapshots. I have a lower-end Canon Rebel that takes "ok" pictures, but felt this event deserved a better camera.

I assume that the Whitworth tools are for the TF. I'm surprised that you have endured this long not having a set. Fortunately, the only weird fasteners on my TR3 are some small British Association screws that I had to get a couple of taps and dies for thread chasing.

Edit: BTW, here's an excellent source for British tools and fasteners.

Nice! Whitworth tools can be tricky to find. I got my one set of wrenches from ebay. Had to convert my payment to pounds as the seller was in England. They cost almost as much to ship as to buy! Jeesh. My second collection came from my brothers landlady. She and her late husband used to live in South Africa and he worked on Land Rovers. She gave them to me just because she wanted to see them get used.
My TR2 is all Whitworth. I believe it was not long into the TR3s when they converted to mainly ASE

I have some Whitworth Sockets from when I owned teh Daimler - guess I ought to sell them!

That site I linked to earlier, the British Fastener and Tool site, has an excellent section describing all of the various British fastener thread forms that you might encounter. If you got some time, you might want to acquaint yourself with the various forms so that you're not surprised when something strange shows up.

They're worth keeping just as conversation pieces.
