Ok gurus! What is it? Buick? What year? This picture was taken at my family's cottage in Canada circa 1928, give or take.

I suspect the woman sitting on the bumper is my Grandmother and the person behind the lens is my Dad. I am hoping my cousins will be able to tell me who the women are. :smile:
 
Peter - I'm thinking Buick or Oldsmobile 1926 two door landau coupe. The "hood ornament" temp gauge has been replaced with one of the canine variety.

I can't make out the detail of the radiator case badge, so still not 100% sure. I'll keep thinking (or at least making a veiled attempt at same ...).

With that hood ornament, I suspect it's the famous Mack Bulldog's lesser known passenger car offshoot, the "Mack Terrier"
 
hmmm - not convinced on the Plymouth. First off, Peter's photo is a landau coupe, not a four door. Also, take a look at the shape of the fenders, and the radiator case. Radiator case top has a slight "v-shape drop" in the middle. And the cooling slots along the hood sides get slightly shorter toward the rear on the Plymouth; on Peter's car, they're the same height all the way.

I certainly agree with the side vents being slightly different and that the front inner part of the fender is cut back more on Peter's car. The "V" to me appears to be only the type of reflection in Peter's photo. I do also wonder about the bumper. Peter's appears smooth where the Plymouth is ridged. On the other hand, the headlight mounting bar appears to be identical, where it becomes thicker where it mounts to the fender.
No, I take that last part back!
 
Donn - I agree on the headlamp bar similarity. And certainly the difference in the bumper bars design.

But on Peter's car, look at how the headlamp case tops are lower than the top of the radiator case.

On the Plymouths, the headlamp case top is higher, in relation to the top of the radiator case.

Maybe Peter can post a higher resolution scan of the original photos, so we can make out that radiator case badge.

I was able to get a close up look at the grill and front bumper using a loupe. I can make out the general designs but am not able to read the letters. That being said, here is a later model of the same car:

Further research shows that the car in my pictures is not an earlier model - my call based on the wood wheels.

Here is another car, even closer than the one in the eBay ad:

What is it?

(There are still lots of differences between the one in your pictures, and the Nash on ebay - but as you say, it's a later model.)

Check www.auto-quest.com. There is a 1929 Buick with different views of it. I saw this passing through Tifton, Ga. earlier this year. It looks close but I notice the radiator has some sort of emblem on it that this other doesnt have.
