What year is my Midget?

I just bought a MK II and can't pin down the year. The seller claimed it was a '66, but I don't think so.

Chassis number GAN3L36091
Engine number 10CC DA H 39427

Any information you guys can provide would be most welcomed.

Thanks!

GAN3L36091 was built around March or April 1965.
ENGINE 10CC DA H 39427 was built in after November 1965.

Could be a 1965 car that was actually sold in 1966 - or could be an early 1966 car; probably 1965 car sold in 1966.....do you have photos? Especially of the grille.

What color is body?
interior?

Does the top come off & store in the trunk or does it fold down?

Car is (was -- it's primer now) Dove Grey with red/grey-piped interior.

Top does indeed come off and store in the trunk.

Could the engine be a replacement since it's about 8 months later than the chassis?

I'll get pics up soon.

Not necessarily. "Rollers" could sit around for months before being final assembled.

What're your plans for it?

& where's John's Creek, GA?

Johns Creek is about 30 miles north of Atlanta.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it...I prefer the MKII over the RWA, and both my cars need work. This weekend I'll figure it out while the two cars are side by side.

Here's the MKII -- all the trim parts are in the trunk.

And here's the RWA.

Better pics this weekend!

Got a photo of the grille? & the dash?

So, the PO filled in all the trim holes on the hood & body?

Interesting old aftermarket Snug hardtop...

& was it an abandoned auto (orange sticker on windshield)?

Yeah, they're all filled. I think that makes him a DPO, right?

The grille is missing slats and is in the trunk. I don't have a pic of it but will take one this weekend. Here's the dash. Don't mind the daylight peeking through the floorboards!

NICE solid trunk!

One other shot I have of it with the top off.

The hardtop is pretty neat, but has a curved back window that is missing. Yikes -- that's gotta be pricey to replace!

It wasn't abandoned, the PO had it parked next to his house and it got stickered by the city as an eyesore!

Yell if you decide to get rid of it.

Tony, I thought you said you hated rust?

I do....bad floors aren't rust.....body panels with holes in them are rust.

You're right - I don't need to replace any floors right now!

Decided to sell it -- $950 takes all:

Newly re-cored radiator
New water pump
New plugs
New wires
New cap
New rotor
New points
New condensor
New coil
New fuel pump
New battery
New battery cables
New battery cutoff switch
New hoses
New fan belt
New headlamps
New top (never installed)

extra hood
extra left and right doors
extra front bumper
extra decklid
Vintage Parrish Plastics hardtop

box of used parts -- extra speedo, tach, misc trim
milk crate with new parts -- brake hoses, canister oil filter conversion kit, tie rod boots

Car runs but needs hydraulics gone through in order to drive.

Wait a minute! Is the car in the last set of photos the same one as in the first set?

& what's the VIN?

Looks like it to me, seems the rear window is still missing. Not a bad deal for $950 I should think and it even runs.

Oh yeah, now I remember the VIN...

Did you get my PM?

App PMs are marked with the senders user name.
