what year engine?

the motor id tag on my recently purchased 58 bn6 is 29F / RU H 3875. can someone identify this engine as to model year, horsepower,etc. also it has a centershift transmission! thank you
 
A 29F is from a BJ7, according to my reference book. Middle of the run going by the number. Beginning of 1963.
 
Most likely between 2/63 and 5/63 ,from a '63 BJ7 ,with about 132 hp. Center shift probably from same. Prior to diaphragm clutch, so would have 10" clutch. Also later distributor (25D6) originally, but might still have the 100-Six.

The 29F engines were introduced in May of 1962 and were replaced by the 29K engines in November of 1963. They were 2912cc's in displacement and fitted with two HD6 Carbs. This engine would have been mated with a center shift transmission.

Published specs for the engine are as follows:
131 bhp @4750 RPM, 165 lb ft of torque @ 3000 RPM
 
thanks guys. i suppose i would be happier with the original motor but it is what it is. and, coincidentally i have a 63bj7 with a sbc conversion that could use the 29f motor and transmission!!! if i ever decided to change back to original healey engine?????? now to be on the lookout for a proper 58 engine and side shift transmission....
