What year BJ8 would you choose?

If three perfect concourse examples were for your choosing
what year and reason why you would choose it over the others.

(1) Early 1964 BJ8 (lower rear suspension, single front lights, conical rear brake lamps/reflectors)

(2) Late 1964-March 1965 BJ8 (Phase 11 raised rear suspension, single front lights, large lense rear brake lenses/reflectors)

(3) March 1965-1967 BJ8 (Phase 11 suspension and dual large front and rear light lenses)

1964 Phase II. Best of all worlds, before too many lights spoiled the look but you can still make it up a driveway without bottoming out.

I would choose (3)...worth the most and represents the penultimate in Healey development. oh, and make mine Healey blue, thanks.

Seeing how penultimate means "next to last," that explains your choice of 3. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I know, just joshing. Not really sure why or how anyone can pick which BJ8 is "the best." Kinda like shoes, need to find the one that fits you best.

If we are comparing them to shoes then my wife likes one in every color and every style. I cannot afford all three Healey styles nor can I afford all of her shoes. So I have a Blue 1966 BJ8.

I like the 67 with all the lights and ground clearence.

---66's got em too!

I like the '65 phase II that I have.....like the lights, but probably mostly 'cause it is what I have!

when I bought - I wanted the final stage of production - I wanted the pinnacle of what the Healey had evolved to - so I bought a late 67 - within the last 200 built. Build date of 10/67 - all the options with the exception of a telescoping wheel. I love it

Oh! That be a limited use vehicle for sure!---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I always thought the telecoping steering wheel was standard on the BJ8s. You live and learn.

The Brits will only sell you one of those if you don't drink Beer TH.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
