My cousin has an Austin Healey in the garage thats been there since the early 80's. The numbers on the tag are hbj8l-25469. Ive found online(and looking at it) that its a mk3000 and left hand drive but I could not figure out what year it is. Can anybody give me some more info on it by the numbers?

BJ8's that have chassis numbers 25315-25658 were made in 1963.

My BJ7 is 24,578 and was completed on July 3, 1963. The last BJ7 was chassis number 25,314 built in September '63, so you have an early BJ8.

I believe yours may of been made somewhere between mid to late December, 1963, according to one data site.
