All gee Rick, I was trying to get someone on the hook!(Grin). Aren't they fantastic! Here's another one of the author with another creation. Truely amazing.

There was one on eBay a few weeks ago of a Lotus Elan. It looked very well done until you wake up and say, :nonono: "Wait a minute, I didn't know fiberglass could rust!"
 
The way they take those outdoor photos is to build a small set, and take a photo with a real background. Lens size, lighting tricks, etc compliment the effect. The first photo shows this, although he didn't get the perspective on the shrubbery quite right. The leaves look way too big!
 
The Porsche seems to be the best of the lot. The curves and contours on the Benz are somehow off.

Agree about the wide-angle lens being used but its effect wouldn't selectively alter some proportions and not others. Hood curves and the "bumps" are too "flat", the front fenders too large in comparison. I'll have to dig thru some of my 'chromes and find a similar shot of a real one we did back-when.
 
Perhaps, but the fenders would be made to look larger due to lens distortion increasing as you move outward. This along with the "stretching effect" of a very wide angle lens could also make the hood appear flatter. No way to know for sure, just looks like it to me.
 
He caught the aroma of the high iron content steel on the 356's quite well.
I am just surprised there isn't a missing door skin.
