What would cause loss of all power [electrical]

Re: What would cause loss of all power [electrical

The catch is going to be getting the jets right. As the SU (Hitachi or otherwise) was not a common option for your engine, it may take a bit of research to find the right set up, or even a good starting point for experimentation. It may require buying a range of jets and plugging them in one at a time until you get it right. I have not read this entire thread, so if this has already been covered... apologies.

Re: What would cause loss of all power [electrical

There's plenty of them doing it in Australia, the datsun1200 bbs can tell me about jetting it properly for the A15. They came as an option down under, but here in the US it just wasn't available.
So, I'm not worried about getting it tuned once I get it. It's getting it at all that's the real problem, I've got a self imposed amount of pressure to get the right stuff the first try so I need to really do my homework before I buy anything.

Ohhhhhh. I am a dummy. I thought the "1200" meant that it had the 1200cc motor.

Good one, I have to admit that's what I thought first time I saw it!

Yeah, there's no real hurry.
Big thing is to get it to run reliably and focus on my MGC restoration project.

But I really do love driving this Midget!

Sorry, didn't read the whole thread... did you get the electrical thing figured out?

I had the same problem a few weeks ago and the wire on the back of the ignition switch came loose. Pretty much disables everything on the car.

Wow, that's another place that can put the car down dead.
I'll keep that in mind.
Mine seemed to be at the battery connection.
