What will your next LBC likely be?

TR6 without a doubt, pre 74 if possible and for heavens sake not a basket case! Want to drive it home.

Tinkerman

I hear you about the drive it home part. It was 2 1/2or 3 years after I got the TR3 before I heard the engine and another years or more until I drove it. It arrived in pieces. While the process was a blast, I drove the MGTD home. Come to think of it maybe I am close to ready for another project.

I am into two larger projects; the TC(MAJOR concours resto), and the 6(minor cosmetic resto)..plus I've got at least one project started, or waiting to be started on every other vehicle, including all modern cars(except the caddy - sssshhhh)...Yet I still check the classifieds, and ebay everynight - it's a disease I tells ya!

If it's a disease, then I Don't want the cure! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

I visited a friend over the weekend, he lives in a rented house and down the back was a car under a tarpaulin (belonging to the house owner). Underneath is a Lotus Elan, complete and crying out for a resto. If I had the money I would take the poor thing home!

The GT6 won't be done for some time, but I'm already thinking about what's next.

I'm thinking a TVR or AH. Then again who knows what I'll stumble across.

James,
I'd never seen a JH without the huge US spec bumpers. Looks very nice without them.
I think an AH bugeye for the wife.

I was told once that the only stupid question is one that doesnt get asked so here goes:
What does LBC stand for?

Ozzie
71 gt6 with lots of rust.... er patina

Ozzie, I'm glad you asked this question, cause about 2 years ago when I got back into british sports cars, I asked the same question. The answer: Little British Car.

If I ever finish my big Healey rebuild I'd like to do a Lotus 7 clone. Bob

OK here it is for obscure:

1951 Jowett Jupiter.

Watching one on Ebay.

I'd prefer a Jowitt Saturn...runs RINGS around a Jupiter...hehehe

Ok ... shhh ... as long as my wife doesn't see this post and you guys don't tell her I'll be alright ... she still isn't used to the TR4.

My next LBC will be:

Triumph GT6 MKI (realistic)
Lotus Europa (dream)
Lotus Seven (bigger dream)
MG PA (really unrealistic bigger dream)
Jaguar D Type (OMG I WON THE LOTTERY dream)

I could go on ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've noticed several of you guys have put down Lotus Europa as your dream car. Have you ever driven one of these little jewels? Bet you haven't or you wouldn't be saying "Europa" and "want one" in the same sentence. My buddy up the road restored a Europa (one of his 8 LBCs) and let me drive it. You feel like you are driving a gokart naked, with no ability to see behind you with that bumblebee engine screaming down your collar. Kinda cool but definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Now the Esprit, that's a man!

That's the one! As I said, for the masochist in me....

Then, once I've punished myself a little, or a lot, it'd be the Bristol for a more refined and genteel ride....

and I'd still like to get a Spit like the one I had years ago....

That's why I want one Bill! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the laugh.
