TR6 What to do with '71 TR6 body/frame

Well - it finally happened. The fleet has outgrown the available space - hanger and all. This makes me an idiot, which is not shocking for those that know me. Anyway...

The '73 Spider and '74 911 are pushing the '71 TR6 out the door. This is the one that hoped over the front of the Uhaul trailer and has the rear valance rot.

Engine and trans (A-type OD) are out - so what is left is a moderate welding project on a good frame.

My rational conclusion is to part her out since she doesn't owe me anything at this point. My emotional conclusion is that I don't like my rational conclusion.

I'm thinking that if I do part her out I'm better off just listing her for $500 and being done with it.

Ideas?

Tom, sometimes you have to cut the emotional losses, which seem to be harder than any financial loss, which you don't seem to have in this case, so as the poem goes....."set her free, it was not meant to be".....

Too bad you were not closer....I would soon find a solution to your problem

Cheers,
Tush

Got any photos? You're in drivable distance and I'd be interested in seeing pics of the sheet metal on it, since almost all the tub sheet metal on mine is in poor shape. (I think it was held together by the paint while i drove it last year)

Thanks guys. Paul - as usual you hit the nail on the head.

Tush she would be child's play compared to your TR3.

Assuming a rational approach would you guys try to sell her whole or strip her down and deal with the parts?

If you're trying to make space, selling it whole is certainly the best way to make space, if you're trying to make MONEY then splitting it apart is the best way, but it may take you literally a few years to move all the parts. It all depends on what your goal is.

To make it less painful for you, sell it as a whole. You will probably never get rid of everything if you part it and that is the object here.

I kinda have the same problem with something I'd like to move, Tom; except I have the frame and running gear and no body panels. If we only lived closer we could put together a decent driver...

Makes me feel better about my mini-fleet. Think of the service you provide to those of us with less space.

Sell it whole and move on. Someone will give you something for it, and you'll have your space back. Heck, even giving it away earns you your space back, and there is value in that.

Tom,

I see NYC?

Cheers,
Tush

Got me excited there for a minute....NYC is not that far away

How much you want for it?

Is there some sort of a subliminal message hidden in that photo, with the remains of your TR6 parked next to a tractor???

Ha!

She actually looks pretty neat there Ken.

Kellysguy - if you don't know Ken he's a straight shooter. Good guy to deal with.
