What tires are you guys running?

I'm looking for something for track days in a 185/60-13.

Thanks.

A.

Andre, I run Hoosier 20x8x13 slicks on the race cars, and Hoosier Street TD's on the track day car.
You've got a gorgeous MkI!

Thanks, I'll have to research those products.

I'm using Toyo RA-1s on my race Spridget. This tire, (but not this size) is a spec-tire for some Miata classes. They are $115 USD from Edge Racing (about the cheapest source I've seen). I like them very much.

I have also run Kumhos and Yokos, but they've dropped their DOT-Race 185-13" sizes.

Yeah the Toyo is the other tire on my list in that size.
Thats a nice price, Hankook's Z211 is supposed to be good too.

Z211 is discontinued.

There is still some 205-60-13 (I think) but no 185's left on closeout. Call Frisby 800-798-7201

They are ok at full tread and fine for rains of course.

Toyo RA are inexpensive and should be cut to 3 or 4 32nds. an d they will tak a lot of heat cycles.

Hoosier radials are about 30% more than Toyo, dont need cutting, but will give you less cycles and more grip than the Toyo.
