Where do they get these games from. Women's Handball seems to be a combination of Basketball, Hockey, Water Polo (without the water) and Football, being played by Roller Derby recruits.

In 1908 they had bicycle polo, which supposedly is making a comeback in Europe.

Hey!

We have a Roller Derby Team in our town. It's actually pretty cool.

https://www.morristownmadams.com/ (Team Motto: "Cute N Brutal")

Last year The Madams marched in front of us in the St. Pat's Day Parade....no one looked at *us*!

My daughter is the timekeeper (being nearly 7 months pregnant, it good she doesn't skate) for the Lehigh Valley Rollergirls, and her husband is an official for their matches. This young lady was at our house for a picnic this weekend and is under five feet tall and such a proper you woman. The photo was from a match against Morristown.

It has struck me also as to how many of these games are a loose combination of soccer, basketball, hockey etc.!!!

WOW!!! Steiner of Austria just won the weight-lifting gold with a clean-and-jerk lift of 258kg.! Half the weight of a Spridget!!!!

"YO! Steiner! C'mere an' hold this up fer me... I wanna change out th' u-joints."

I was just reading about Olympic female weight lifting the other day.

What's really impressive (to me) is US Olympian Melanie Roach and her ability to hoist 259 lbs over her head.

There's NO WAY I could do that.

~Melanie~ is the mother of three kids and weighs 117 lbs.
