If this were a paying job I'd have lost my butt on it already. I should have looked at it as if it were a customer's car!I am not a fan of composite head gasketsā¦had I bit of a problem with an MGA and them.
I ordered from Moss, and when it arrived the box was too small a n d you guessed itā¦.was folded in half.
New one arrived and once fitted leaked.ā¦into the bin it went costing me money. Never again.
Wish I was closer to help out!
A lesson learned and forgotten until (just) recently.Always treat repairs as if they are not your own.
I just read (on another forum) that BPNW might have them.
Got a fresh can of Permatex "Copper Spray-a-Gasket" ahead of this next replacement. Shot some on the "new Improved" one just removed, to see if it would have any adverse reaction on the parent material. Seemed to stay where it was put, no evident lifting or distortion of the gasket material at least. May have to resort to that for future rebuilds. Or pay Rimmer Bros. +shipping for a six-pack of the right gaskets!Totally agree. I use more gasket sealant than I ever have.
Nice!Check out these gems I picked up for a Talbot job.
I'm hoping the formula has remained the same!! I do have a can of the older stuff but it clogs the nozzle continually...Agreed on the copper spray, as long as the ingredients are not changed or modified for cheap.
