What SS brake hoses do you recommend?

My `67, an occasional driver, is in a less than stellar unrestored condition. I have been keeping it alive and enjoying the time I get to drive out on some lost back roads under the oak trees in east Texas. (Sometimes looking for Bigfoot) Especially driving with my uncle who is getting up in years now. He used to play with big Healeys back in the sixties. I had promised him for years about getting mine road worthy enough so it would be safe enough for him to drive.

The brake pedal has become a little softer than usual. Requiring a pump to get the pedal solid. I noticed the original rubber hoses are more like a piece of freshly chewed up bubble gum spit out on the ground in the hot sun.

Moss has both Goodridge and Cobolt listed. They have their usual sale going on and I can use some other items with the order.

Does anyone have thoughts of one over the other? Any other suggestions?

Hi, I've had great results with the ubiquitous goodridge brand,I've also made my own with the easily available fittings and hose. In my view they are all much of a muchness. Double pump on the pedal sounds more like a master cylinder problem, but hoses have a finite life whatever.

You could think that until actually watching the hoses swell up like those new snake garden hoses when pedal pressure is applied.

I've been using the Cobalt for a couple of years. They are DOT certified. Can't see any reason for the more expensive Goodridges. I think TechnaFit makes the Cobalt hoses.

Agree 2 pumps got to be the master cyl. Fix that first, then worry about the hoses.

Do it all, as brakes are important and bleeding brakes is best done once, after making all the appropriate changes. Heck, I think 'once' is a contradiction in terms, as I always seem to have to go through the whole exercise a couple of times before getting rid of all the air. Doug
