What radials do you use?

Makes me think that it I can scrounge up the spare cash for a set of Hap's wheels a 14" wheel might be the best way t ogo long term. At least I'll be able to find a set of performance tires.

EXACTLY my thinking, but the 14's didn't come out in time and I can't justify buying another set until I at least wear out the tires I bought last year with only about 1500 miles on them.... When I was checking it out, there was ONE performance tire in 175/70-13 and at least SIX in about the same size (175/60-14 ??? IIRC)

But the way things are going 14's are going away all too soon as well. ....

What is left in 175-70-13 is that those Dunlops that are fairly expensive? Gundy I think has those on his BE.

Which Dunlops?
I can find the DS-3's (IIRC) but that's about it and the prices for those at Tirerack ain't bad.

Tire Rack has a sale now, you get $40 back via MIR.
$236 plus shipping which is about $50 for me so it would be $246 total after rebate on a set of four.
They look like good tires, way better than what I have now at any rate.

I think jim was thinking about the 185/60R14 that Gundy has on his car. I have the same on mine. But those are 14" tires.

Those Dunlops are snow tires Rick.

I find Tire Rack's selection to be limited. These guys sell (as far as I can tell) EVERYTHING available

NFI

I just did a little more searching and found this..

They have Falken and Vreiderstein tires in 175/70 13s, so at least there ARE some performance tires still being made.

OOPs, the Falkens are snow tires.. ..

Trevor, thanks!
This may be the last performance tire available in 13's.

I had a set of protenzas ... I took them off after about 500 miles and sold them at a loss. The compound was very hard. They were easily the worst set of tires I ever had on my midget. I know they use the protenza name on different models, so I can not be sure that it is the same tire.

I had some Potenzas on my BE. Funny thing is the tread wear rating was 180 and the tread wear rating on my Dunlop Z1s
is 200. Go figure.
I think there are a variety of Potenza models available as you
mentioned.
Guess mine were of the soft variety.

Most recent tires for my sprite were 155/80R13-4 tires for $180 USD-purchased 2 months ago. I had a local tire shop look them up (the size) and he had no problem locating the tires-Tires made in Thailand R202 model #-seem to work ok,didnt pay much but its what he could find locally.

How about these?
The 5 star reviews are all about handling and summer use, but the winter driving seems like it's not good.
