I've got the passenger rear suspension out
of the Crypt Car now. Waiting for Paul's new trailing
arm and Moss bushings, studs, vacuum lines, etc.

So I'm cleaning up the frame and I notice these two threaded
holes in the wheel well. Plus the bottom side of a pop rivet.

The threaded holes appear to either 5/16" or 3/8".

Anyone able to tell me what used to be in those two
threaded holes? Or what purpose that pop rivet might have?

Do I need to order some parts for the two threadsed holes?

The threaded holes are for the seat belt attachments. The pop rivet is probably a PO enhancement or an interior snap fastener.

that is really odd. I have functional seat belts
in my car using pre-existing holes I found in the
floor pan into the frame.

But, I'll go take a look anyway.

Dale, do you have lap belts or shoulder belts. These are the locations for the factory shoulder belt mechanisms. The lower one is where the main mechanism sits, the upper one is where a pivot of sort mounts to get the belt to shoulder height.

You trailing arm was shipped via USPS Priority Mail at 9:00AM this morning. It's between you and the Postmaster General now.

Indeed, it seems DPO Pedro did in fact sell my
wife Wendy his parts car.

No seat belts of any type- DPO Pedro told her they
are not required in antique cars.

No horn - "TR6's never had them to begin with."

No functional exterior or interior lights.
"Must be a blown fuse"

How long a list do you want?? je,je,je

You had better check that Pedro didn't attach the lap belts with the pop rivet!
 
69- Did they mandate shoulder harness then? If not ,then for sure the brits didn't put them in. And if they were added at the dealer I doubt they would thread a hole for them.
Just some thoughts.
 
The captive nuts were factory installed for the shoulder straps and are part of the original design on the TR6.
 
But he said they were threaded holes and captive nuts wouldn't have threaded holes.
Would they???
 
Perhaps I should have said, there is a nut welded to a reinforcing plate that is welded to the wheel well. You can see the outline of it under the undercoating.
 
The nut welded to the body is the 'threaded hole'. The sheet metal itself of the body isn't really thick enough to hold much of a thread. The undercoating around that nut and re-enforcement plate can often be thick enough to make the body seem thicker there.
 
hmmm. Me thinks part of the "team crypty" trip will be a , ummm.. BBQ. Yea, BBQ at DPO Pedros house. In honor of his being the reason for all of us meeting.
Then we'll se what he's got for "presents" for his guests. Hopefully in the form of TR6 parts.
