I call shenanigans on this. I do both of these things and you're never at any of the meetings!!!

Aside from that, I also-barely, mind you-play the guitar. I collect books and records, and am into photography as well. I've also recently become a rail geek, which gives me more things to buy books about and to photograph.

You play the guitar in the NUDE! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Military history, with a major interest in aviation. Automotive historical research. Model building, Fire arms. Reading, Politics, and I used to sail a fair amount. Haven't done much of that for a few years.

No. It seems like it would be uncomfortable. I meant that I have very basic skills on the instrument. I call it "playing" the guitar. Others call it "cruel and unusual punishment".

My partners have accused me of practicing law as a hobby...I sued them.

Otherwise, I'm all over the place:

-Teaching (I'm an adjunct instructor teaching to undergrads and MBA students and possibly at a law school next year)

-Woodworking

-Home improvement

-Antique radios (I restored a '35 Philco 60, have a '38 Zenith console in the wings and am building an iPod player from a '39 Philco, don't worry, the chassis was ruined when I got it)

-Running (just completed my first 1/2 marathon)

-I have a stalled replica Briggs and Statton Flyer project something like this:

Not stalled so much, as I am gathering parts on the cheap...and it takes time. The engine is done and runs great.

-Oh yeah...and the 4 kids take a bit of time...but if I called that a hobby...I'd be signing my own death warrant.

I have indeed and have read every issue of "Engine and Wheels". It is an extremely helpful web page. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Somehow I'm not surprised to find another replica buggy enthusiast here.

Yeah...."small cars" are fun. I've read most of the Engine & Wheels too. Old Everett does a good job at that.

These days I'd really like to get my college students to build a "cyclekart" next....we'll see.

Road&Track magazine staffers racing cyclekarts.

Hockey, Scuba, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, trap shooting, collecting albums, lacross and full contact lawn darts.

I am a quilter (I have 6 generations of Quilts), I make all varieties of jams and jellies(to those of you in Michigan and points north....I would love some cherries), we grow a vegetable garden and can vegetables, home remodeling (something about knocking out walls after a day with a 120-13 year olds), woodworking, and now LBC's....
I figure if you expect your students to be life-long learners you should parctice what you preach /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I'm sitting here realising that I USED to have several hobbies.
Model cars, ham radio, HO train layout, Living history camping (mountian man, pre 1840) regular camping, bluegrass (I play guitar, banjo, mountian dulcimer, and a bit of mandolin) RC military boats (PT 109, Blue Devil Destroyer)
cartooning, drawing, and some other stuff too.
But my hobbies lately have been
barely sleeping, watching the kid, trying to straighten up the house, and fretting over the bills.
Yes, I'm getting a bit depressed.

I'm active in the Miata Club, teach adult Sunday School, serve on the advisory council for the local county school system for vocational programs, but have to give up playing hockey after a back injury (I scored a goal on the play, though).

Great Googely Moogely!!!
that one on the right looks like they caught him while he was eating someone.

Where did you find those pictures of the relatives?
Nobody outside of the family is supposed to know about them.
