you're my hero! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

My wife bought a Ford pick up so we can drag home more Brit cars. We use a couple of GM N bodies for everyday. The DKW is patiently awaiting attention. Our inventory of cars over the years is missing a Swedish car and an Italian car. We've had Mazdas and a Mitsubishi. I think we'll not add a Korean car to the stable. T.T.

98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
97 Subaru Outback
94 Chevrolet S-10 PickUp
64 VW Beetle

I admit to lunacy......but I go to schools and scout troops and places to generate interest in building. I try to convince or introduce the conbustion engine to car enthusiasts wives and girlfriends........there is no mystery...fuel or fire. They can fix it themselves and not just "tag along" Unfortunately as little girls we were convinced if the key didn't turn it on-call someone(towtruck) dad-brother, police. Teach the women you love aboutyour car and you'll get alot more fun out ofthis "hobby"-I hope I'm still your hero!!!!!Randi /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

I was born in Southern Cal......We could have been neighbors!!I actually drive only old cars-And in Louisiana airconditioning is almost a necessity. Mine are all orginal equiptment and the wind wings on most ARE the air conditioning! 6 are convertables but black seats teach you to put the seat FORWARD-that smell of burning flesh-especially when it's your own..........Randi /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

In addition to my Triumph TR3 have a '62 bug convertible-- my driver, an 01 Passat, Wife had a Chev Malibu

Fun to see all the different cars-- I've owned about 50 cars in 35 years of driving-- 8 of them British

I have two 1984 Westy's, one in So. Cal and one in Maine to camp in when I visit those places (fairly frequently).

I have a 1986 4 wheel drive syncro westy in Oregon for camping in and driving on the beach.

I have not found something I like better for camping and surfing than a Westy. It gets from 18 to 22 mpg, sleeps 4, will make ice cubes while driving, and had a 2 burner stove. It will make a U turn on a 2 lane street. You can stand up in it to put your wetsuit on.

The propane frig will keep the food and beer cold 24/7 for around 3 weeks or more on 3 gallons of propane, depending upon how much you use the stove. Even while driving, although the frig also works on 12 volt and 110 volt.

Currently I am on a remote assignment in North Pole Alaska, and have been provided with a new Chevy Pickup 4WD extended cab. I'm not impressed with it, but it is free including the gas.

I also have some bikes:
1975 Norton Commando Roadster with modifications (Purchased new by me).
1973 Norton Commando Roadster with modifications.
1968 Royal Enfield TT Interceptor
1971 Triumph Trail Blazer
1968 Triumph TR25 Trophy
1970 BSA Lightning 650 long range
1980 Suzuki GS 1000G

Notable Bicycles:
2003 Tomac 98 Special
2001 Schwinn Homegrown Pro
2002 Giant Ranier heavily upgraded
1978 Sutter custom road racing bike
1961 Hawthorne 3 speed "English Racer"
1960? Raleigh 3 speed

I may have sold the V8 powered Cortina today, so I'm on the lookout for a "something else" to mess around with, now with a little more resolve.
