Stag what motor for a Stag?

I see no weakness in the 3.0 and would love to have one, it's just I don't have one. That was the intent when I bought the wrecked car. I do have one, but... All the #'s match, rare color, and OD. I'm gonna fix it. I have no line on a good cheap donor. So I'm looking for motivation for my car. 28k original miles. No rust. Sun damage. TR-6 motors are easier, but how do they fit? heck, if it'd fit, I'd grab a 4.0 outa a Jeep!

One important detail on the engine transplant. in addition to the fit is the weight factor. Too light and you end up with alignment issues. Almost anything is lighter than the original stag motor. I have seen the TR6 transplant. It fit, but looked funny. Still need 8 cyl to give it the proper "voice".
