What MG Club[s] Do You Belong?

Being new here, I am curious as to which MG clubs, associations, etc. members of this MG forum belong. Or if you do not belong to any for that matter.

Any hints as to how to start a local club and would you recommend being a part of one of the associations?

The MG Club of St. Louis.

Roundabout 150 members (possibly more, not sure) not quite sure when it was founded either. Has been around some time though, more than 10 years easily. I've only been a member since October '04.

After 16 years of MG ownership I just joined my first club, the Southern California MG Club. Never been much of a club guy but it's fun when you get a bunch of LBCs out on the long windy mountain roads together.

www.MGCCNWC.com, MG Car Club Northwest Centre, covers an area from the about Everett south to Olympia. We have four locations for meetings since the club covers a wide area. Most of the members live in the Seattle to Olympia area.

I am active in our local (all British marques) club. Have never had to get one started but sort of had to get this one 'jump-started' as they were not doing any of what I liked -- driving.

To start one you might begin small and keep it simple: Meet somewhere for breakfast on a set day (we use the second Saturday of each month). Initially you might keep it at the same location and know that there may just be a few of you until things get going. Spread the word at car shows or wherever you encounter LBCs. If you get a few regulars for breakfast then plan a cruise for before or after.

A simple website (one page is enough for a start) and email make it much easier once you are planning more varied events -- but for awhile at least don't expect much to happen unless you make it happen.

Meetings, dues, name badges, officers, by-laws, newsletters, budgets, hats and jackets seem to be inevitable (like death & taxes) but start by just doing whatever it is that gets people to enjoy their cars.

The Twin Tiers Sports Car Club. We used to be a branch of the MG club, but now we are equal oppertunity annoyers. Great group of people, with all kinds of cool wheels.

MG Car Club, Rocky Mountain Centre, which has been around since the early 1950s and has held the Rallye Glenwood Springs every June for 53 years. When the rallye first started, the only MG for sale was the T-Series and racers wore only helmets with leather ear flaps. No four-point seat belts, roll bars, or fuel cells for those daring folks, which, by the way, included women! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
