What kind of money

Orange County Sandblasting, a premier sandblaster over here in So. Cal., charged me $100 an hour and did a fantastic job up, down, all around on my bugeye tub and bonnet and doors in 6 hours....we are talking about CA prices here though folks...so I would definitely think it should be on the high end of the spectrum.

Yes, even for where I live, $100 an hour seems quite steep.

Shop labor runs $75-85 an hour at most (with a few places significantly less). I wouldn't think sandblasting should be more than that.

In Alabama there are two other places (I know of) that do media blasting (soda blasting). One is Impatient Creations (in Alabaster (205) 664-1447) and the other is Alabama Soda Blasting (256) 458-8423 which is in Gadsen (I think). There is also a guy in Jefferson, GA (don't have info but can find if interested). Seems like there was someone over in Moultrie, GA at one time. Regardless, I was quoted a rate of $200/hr for soda blasting by the folks in Alabaster. I'd trying to blast some flat panel fenders from a Triumph and thus would like to stay away from sand (warping issues). Tony, any idea what sort of media C.R. Wallace Enterprise uses? The $200/hr is a little too steep for me.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the quote (mentioned above) for a pair of fenders (from a TR3) would run about $125 - $150 to soda blast /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif If undercoating is present, add $50/fender. The guy from Milton, FL quoted me a price of approx. $1000 to media blast the tub of the forementioned TR3.

I've used the guys over in Decatur - like Mr. Wallace better....both use sand but I've not had any warping/pitting problems with Mr Wallace's work...he gets lots of old cars in there & lots of repeat work....give him a call.
