do folks end up having to pay to have a Spridget media blasted, what is reasonable and to be expected?

I'm not paying much for mine. I have a buddy that has a dedicated booth. I only have to decide which media I want to use and buy some. I can't imagine that a tub as small as a spridget would run that much though. I'm sure I'll be surprised when someone pipes up but I was thinking in the 3 to 5 hundred range for a complete tub.

Last tub I had blasted was an MGB GT & it cost me $250

Wow, this guy quoted me a price of 1000 to 1000 dollars.

Guess he thought he saw me comming or something.

Tony, who is your guy, heck I can drive to Huntsville and save.

C. R. Wallace Enterprises.... but he'll keep the car at least a week!

Have you checked around other towns in the area?

Gesh, he could have it for a month for a real price.

Guess what I really need to do is start calling all the sand blasters and ask after media blasting.

Just might get lucky.

Any one have an idea of how much area a media blaster guy can or should be able to cover in an hour?

At the prices these guys charge I could build a blast room.

I figure a Bugeye has about 100 sq feet of body and engine room. Not bottom or inside.

When I had mine blasted last month the cost was $400 for the tub (in and out/ top and bottom), bonnet, 3 doors and suspension pieces. It took them around 4 hours then another hour after I got there and asked them to go over a few spots a little better.

Have you got a car yet Jack?

Ben

Ben,

Do not have car yet. Jolly said he would take more pics this week and do a real thorough check on body for other than surface rust.

Where in the world are you located, this guy here thinks he has the market sewed up and wants an arm and a leg.

For his price I can tow a long long way and will.

My favorate body shop here will do painting for 38 dollars an hour and seems to do a very nice job he can also do sand blasting for the same price. Good for some suspension parts.

Talked with Mr. Wallace today - he's backed up about a month & wouldn't even want it until mid to later January...but, he said with price increases, it should be somewhere around $300; however, he needs to look at it to give a solid quote...& that's his 2006 prices!

Tony you are an absolute gem. Looks like he just may have a job in 2006.

Heck I could buy my own trailer and come out way ahead. Durn rascles down here.

I just gotta say this..

If you want to contact him, I'll give you his number.

Yep Yep, think you correct for sure.

I still can't believe its that expensive down there...have you made phone calls over towards Mobile? Heck, even Pensacola.
I can see the price beng a bit high in Niceville, size of town, competition, etc...but Pensacola & Mobile should have plenty of places.

This was P'cola tony.

Folks here say he is the only one that does media blasting.

I'm in Orlando and the quotes I was getting were also in the 1000 range. This was at two different outfits.

Well, give Mr Wallace a call & come on up! Lemme know how I can help.
