I've been working on installing dual Weber DCOEs on my TR4A. Along with that project, I installed a Denso mini alternator, gear reduction starter, Mallory distributor with Pertronix, and electric fuel pump. I was going to also install an MSD unit, but I'm not so sure anymore. Anyone want a good deal on a brand new MSD 6A unit?
Putting on the Webers was something I've wanted to do since I got my first Moss catalog as saw them them on the competition parts page. That was 1981 or so. What finally pushed me was when I went to drive her this past fall (it had been a very busy summer, so it was the first drive of the year, sadly), I started it up and gas was streaming out of both carbs. The jet tubes on both carbs (I have/had SU HS6) had failed again, the third time in about 5 years.
I have everything running, but only with very rough adjustment. I also still need to install the relay and inertial switch for the fuel pump, right now it is wired directly to the ignition. I don't think I really need the relay (the pump is only supposed to draw 3/4 amp max), but I had one on hand.
Here are some pictures:
