I can see that on a flat surface but what about a hill. Do you loose any speed at all?????
 
Yes, of course you have to slow down on steep hills. But does that really matter?
 
Okay I hope my bogus photo doesn't deny Pete some useful answers.

I recall seeing a TR6 pulling a trailer (made from the back end of another TR6) but have no idea what GVW was being pulled. Off hand I think I'd be more concerned about brakes than power.
