We used to call that type of design "Engineering Ignorance" when I was in the business.
 
Any job where I have to fix previous owners' mistakes/mishaps.
Drilling out broken studs would be an example.
 
Like Mickey, anything that I have to do while laying on my back in the cockpit...
 
The uncertainty of "did I remember to put that part in or tighten that bolt?" and then taking it apart and finding that you got it right!
Pulling the tranny twice in one day! Had to be positive I did not forget the lockwire on the pin after a long day! Just could not remember for the life of me!!

Doug - You can send my your carbs if I can send you the diff!

I'd have to send you the entire car. The problem is trying to align all of the throttle shafts. I have one that is off by a good bit and causing things to hang up a little bit...enough that my idle is generally about 1500, but on Saturday with the 90+ degree weather manage to work it's way up to 4000. Not exactly where I want to be on a new engine, or any engine.

I agree with the anything under the dash - it's the vision/focusing difficulties that trouble me to no end (if I can't move my head enough, everything is a blur).
 
I hate working on door windows and regulator mechanisms, followed very closely by the underdash stuff, there is usually no comfortable way to do it.

My current gripe however, is the new or used part that should be a 2 minute job to put on that doesn't mate, line up, match, etc.

Since I am putting my whole car back together the 5 minute jobs that take 2 hours to several days (if I have to order more parts) are driving me nuts;

Degreasing gunky stuff not so bad, scrape it off with an appropriate tool followed by chemicals, not fun, but there are plenty of worse things (IMHO)

Having not ventured into any engine or drivetrain projects...yet...my current worst experience was hooking up the emergency brake cable to the handle.
 
tdskip-Yes the rear axle has to come out with one end of the rear beak hose and the e-brake cable. Then the fun part is draining the tanks and getting the studs or nuts free from the straps. To add more pain the filler neck hose clamps requires boney little hands to reach in and losen them up. Now after all that BS you have to lay on your back using your arms and legs "wiggle, jiggle and spin all about and then the tank falls out!".
 
I'm with Rich.....It's a toss-up between the starter on an E-Type & the
radiator on a TR3...Part of Murphy's law states.."Before you can do something, first you have to do something else."

MGB windscreen R&R. I'd Rather do three clutch replacements than ONE of those.

#2 would be an early Rolls Silver Cloud brake system service/repair.
 
I have to agree with Doc, the MGB windshield is one the worst, especially if you are putting in a new glass. The lower rubber seal on a BJ8 is no walk in the park either.

I have to say my least favorite job is putting the 4 to rest for the winter months. A must here in NW Ohio though.

I actually kind of miss the fun I had building it. :whistle: :smile:

Of course, there are some tough jobs, but anyone who doesn't derive some enjoyment from wrenching on cars is probably best advised to stay away from LBCs and get a Toyota Corrola.
 
Ill degrease or crawl under my dash all day long but I'll sell my TR4A if I have to replace another set of those #@%$ windshield wiper mounting grommets!!
