The year I went to work for RS, they featured their first "pocket" calculator - a four-banger (add, subtract, multiply, divide) - for the princely sum of $129.95, as I recall. Took 4 AA batteries!

can still remember my dad buying his first 4 function calculator - $49.95 marked down from $149.99
 
I had an 8 track player in my 66 MGB and this set up was a great anti theft device. Unfortunately my knuckle head brother borrowed my tapes and left them in the back seat of his unlocked chevy. Ah the best laid plans
