What is this

Yup, that's for a 74-76 or similar range spitfire, when they had chrome bumpers with overrides (or under riders on the front as the case may be)
I don't know my spitfires well enough to narrow it down much more than that.
 
Mark 4 or 1500 spitfire.
 
73 or a 74. The back bumper still has the dummy license plate light on it, but had the "wart on a pickle" lights to either side of the plate. IIRC the "trimph" badge on the bumper went away around 75 That and the Dolly Partonesque protuberences on the front bumper put it around that time frame. :jester:
 
Looks kind of like a Fiat 850 convertible front end.
Don't know how they got TR 7 from it
