Mine reaches way back to when I was 12 years old and decided I was going to be a beatnik/teenager (at 12!) and loved (still do) the phrase "cat" to mean a cool dude. Not that I profess to be a cool dude at all, I just like the thought.
I added gray to it as my hair (what's left of it) is gray. My fondness of "cat" intensified even more when Bo Diddly himself, told me I was a cool cat for trying so hard to help him at a camera store I worked at in Fresno about 15 years ago.
Anyway, that's my story and I gonna stick by it!

I have owned my 73 TR6 since 75-76. When I enrolled on this site, I felt older then dirt. Now I just feel old, but not as old as back then, even though older now, but then you can feel young even when older, then there are the memories. I vividly remember ever girl who road in that TR6 and smile as I pour incredible amounts of money into it as I did on them but then I did to them what the car is doing to me now.

GB is a pet name someone gave me years ago and it just seemed appropriate here.

On the Yahoo Racing History group we use the Len Sutton rule. Len, who was the color commentator on the Indy 500 racing network after a successful racing career, always refused to reply to any post that did not include the poster's first and last name and where they were from. Len said if he did not know who he was talking to, he did not wish to reply. Len passed away over a year ago, but the Len Sutton rule is still employed by the members on the list.

I sure miss Len there, as he seemed to know everyone and every car from the 40's to the 70's in Indy car racing. My autographed photo of him in his car after qualifying at Indy is prized item in my collection. I always have my real name and location in my signatures.
 
Tinster- a variant of the 13th century, Cornwall, UK
word "tinner" for a tin miner, a tinsmith or a roofer
who installed tin coated copper roofs on cathedrals.

I enjoy the architecture of old cathedrals and I design
extreme wind roofing systems.

So I use Tinster
 
No real story behind the name, just a 70 herald, which has been stuck in front of my apartment for the last 4 years. It is even drivable every so often.

My other roadster is a 2003 Mazda Miata Shinsen Version, Build number 774 out of 1451.
 
I inherited a Triumph Tr6 from my uncle who passed away. Hence the name, I was trying to be clever….

Although someone asked me why my name said "in her eye tr6" hahaha
 
Mine was bestowed on me at a previous employer. As one of the older and more experienced of the team leads, my peers were always seeking my advice and guidance. Gained a reputation as the "old, wise one" like ObiWan...and it stuck.

My buddy's at home between 1961 and 1971 used to call me wee willie handbrake (for obvious reasons, 5'6" and the use of the handbrake) and I just dropped the handbrake.

By the way,you know the rubber strips across the road to count the traffic don't stay there too well when judicious use of the handbrake is used just as you get to them at speed :thumbsup:

My best friend and wife, loves license plate sayings, so this is on one of our cars as a specialized plate.
I am always asked if this has to do with what makes you want a small convertible, but no.

I do agree, real names would be good as well, so I'll put mine in.

When I joined this site, I only had my TR6 restomod and it is, well, Swift!

Just ask the local Sheriff deputies that pull me over in the canyons for no brake lights. When they finally catch me and hit their lights, they get confused when my brake lights come on. Then they walk up and say, "I was pulling you over for non-functioning brakelights, but now I realize you weren't using your brakes. Have a nice day, sorry for bothering you." That's happened four times now. You'd think they would pass the word. Although one admitted afterwards that he wanted a closer look at my car. :wink:

With that knowledge and the information in my signature, I think you can see that my signature totally lacks imagination. :crazy:

About signing post with real names...
It drives me nuts when someone post something like "You got that righ,Joe". I start going through the other post in the thread so see who got what right and none of the post are signed Joe and none of the user name look like they belong to someone named Joe. :wall:
