What is that strange grinding sound in the distance?

Why that would be JP driving home from cruise night with no clutch. At least it starts in first and second is fairly versatile. Not sure what except the reservoir is empty. I suspect a weeping MC has started crying but will keep you posted. At least it was 6 blocks from home and not British Car Day which is my next likely big trip.

BTW, it has been a rainy day here and slightly threatening skies - there were 5 cars at the cruise night - normally over a hundred.

So, i am as ready as I can be for the British Car Day tomorrow. I checked the clutch and the MC was empty, so, leak somewhere. Got under the car and without actually removing the Slave Cylinder to check if it is leaking in the bellhousing, all seemed dry - hose, connections. Likewise the area under the MC was dry, though I have had seepage from the MC and the clevis pin holding the clutch pedal to the box was wet and oily.

So, I refilled and bled the clutch, and test drove it, and still find that the clutch pedal seems soft and a little floppy (odd word I know but the best description I can think of) I know I haven't changed anything so, whatever was leaking before will leak now and, I supect there is an MC rebuild in my future (it is only 2 or so years old) and a new SC as I rebuilt it when I reassembled the car, but, can someone please explain what could cause a soft clutch? Seems to me it should work or not. Thanks all.
